I Receive Unwanted WhatsApp Calls and Messages From Indian Numbers

Today, I received both a message and a call on WhatsApp from a +91 number registered in India. I have absolutely no personal or business connection with this country, which makes this situation very concerning and uncomfortable for me. While I immediately blocked the number that contacted me, I am worried because such unwanted calls and messages from foreign numbers have started to become a recurring problem.

My main concern is that my personal data may have been compromised. I do not accept any responsibility if my phone number is misused in any way—for example, if it is used to create a company in my name, to make unauthorized purchases, to take on debt, or to access my private information such as messages and photos. In such cases, all responsibility lies with WhatsApp, since this problem arises through its platform.

I demand that WhatsApp take stronger measures to protect users against unwanted calls and spam messages from foreign numbers. Users should feel safe knowing their numbers and accounts cannot be exploited for fraud or harassment.
