Weewell WHC740 Humidifier Leaked Water and Caused an Electrical Failure
I have been using a Weewell WHC740 steam humidifier for my baby for approximately eight months, trusting the brand and believing the product was safe and suitable for use in my baby’s room. However, the device developed an electrical failure due to water leakage. I sent the product to the authorized service center under warranty, but I was told that the problem was caused by “user error” and was asked to pay approximately $31 for the repair.
There are several questions I would like the company to answer:
1. How can a steam humidifier that was used in my baby’s room without even being moved from its place develop an electrical failure?
2. How can water leakage from the product be considered “user error”? The product is specifically designed to operate with water, so how can the consumer be held responsible for a water leak when the product should have adequate protection and insulation against water-related problems?
3. Why am I being asked to pay approximately $31 for a repair when the product is still covered by warranty? This amount is nearly half of the product’s purchase price.
As a mother, I am extremely disappointed to experience this kind of problem with a brand I specifically chose because I believed it was reliable and suitable for use with my baby, particularly in my baby’s room.
I believe that being a “baby brand” should mean more than simply having that description associated with a product. It should also involve taking responsibility for the safety of babies and ensuring that consumers are not left to deal with problems that should be addressed under warranty.
It is unacceptable for a product to develop this type of failure after such a short period of only eight months, especially when it was used carefully and was not even moved from its original position, and then have the problem dismissed as “user error” without any clear explanation or evidence.
Because of this experience, my trust in the Weewell brand has been seriously damaged. As a mother, I will not choose any Weewell products in the future. I expect the company to stand behind its product and provide a proper warranty solution that does not leave the consumer responsible for the repair cost.
