Miele Blames Me for Torn Rubber Seal on Washing Machine and Wants ₺4500 for Repair

We called for service because our Miele washing machine was leaking water. The technician said that the rubber seal was torn and claimed it was a "user error," asking for ₺4500 to replace it. I ask, how could we have torn the rubber seal of our machine, which we never operate fully loaded due to the large size of the drum, in a household where only my spouse and I live? Moreover, the strange thing is that, as explained during installation, this machine is supposed to trigger an alarm and not operate if something gets stuck in the door. So, how could we have squeezed in and run a piece of clothing large enough to tear the seal? One last question: How could the seal of this product, which we trusted for its "German quality" and paid 3.5 times more than other brands, tear in just 1.5 years? I should also note that the technician who came to our home saw how well the machine was maintained, how the drum was never overloaded, and that no items like blankets or shoes were washed inside, which is why it’s in excellent condition. It’s been a week, and I still can’t wash any clothes, and Miele representatives are not responding to me!

Hello, Yes, Miele called me and made an offer on September 20, 2024. I asked for 15 minutes to consider their offer and discuss it with my spouse. They said they would call back, but it's been 5 days and I haven't heard from them!
