WeChat Verification SMS Received Without Any Login Attempt
On the evening of July 17, 2026, I received two verification code SMS messages from the WeChat app on my phone in a short period of time. I was not attempting to log in to any WeChat account, so these messages caused me concern.
I am worried that a WeChat account may have been created using my phone number without my permission or that an existing account may have been compromised. I reported the situation through the WeChat website, but I am still concerned about the possibility of my personal data being misused from a security perspective.
I request that WeChat check my phone number for security purposes, investigate whether any account has been created or attempted to be created using my information, and ensure that my number is not used in any way without my authorization. I also request that the necessary security measures be taken to prevent these types of verification codes from being sent to my phone number in the future.
