WeChat Sent Me Verification Codes Even Though I Never Created an Account

Although I have never used the WeChat app and have never registered for this service, I received three consecutive SMS messages today containing WeChat verification codes. The messages are labeled as coming from WeChat, and this situation raises concerns that unauthorized activity may be taking place using my mobile phone number.

Receiving a verification code from an application I have never used has caused serious concerns about the security of my personal information and phone number. I am worried that my number may have been linked to a WeChat account without my knowledge or consent, misused by third parties, or used for unauthorized activities.

I request that WeChat urgently investigate these verification messages sent to my phone number, check whether someone has attempted to create an account or perform any activity using my number, permanently close any accounts that have been created or attempted to be created without my authorization, and prevent my phone number from being used for WeChat registration. I also request clear and written information regarding the handling and security of my personal data.
