Unjust Ticket Cancellation Fee by Turkish Airlines
On June 27, 2024, around 8:00 PM, I purchased a ticket for ₺2000 for a flight from Şanlıurfa to Istanbul on July 3, 2024, which is 6 days later. Approximately 2 hours later, I had to cancel the ticket, and I was refunded ₺1112, with a deduction of ₺898. This means about 45% was deducted for a mere 2-hour period. Even a passenger who completes the flight wouldn't incur such a high fee, so there is no logical explanation for this deduction. It's normal to have some deduction for cancellations, but with the flight still 6 days away and the likelihood of the ticket being resold, such a penalty is unjustifiable. I cannot understand the basis for this deduction, and I leave this capitalist system to the conscience of our people. I will initiate legal proceedings.
