Unable to Change Turkish Airlines Ticket Date Despite Willingness to Pay
I am a Turkish academic living in South Korea. Each year, I purchase tickets from Turkish Airlines for trips between Turkey and Korea, as well as for visits to Europe with connections through Istanbul for my mother, my family, and myself. For an upcoming conference in October 2024, I purchased tickets for a journey from South Korea to Istanbul, Istanbul to Morocco, Morocco to Istanbul, and back to South Korea. However, I was uncomfortable with the return flight from Morocco to Istanbul being only 3 hours before my next flight to Korea, due to concerns about potential delays. I contacted customer service to change the date of the Morocco-Istanbul flight to one day earlier, offering to pay the fare difference, upgrade to a higher package, or consider any other solution they could provide. Unfortunately, we were unable to make the change. The only solution offered was to cancel the flight and receive a refund. However, for the round-trip ticket from Morocco, which cost 2 million Won, I was offered a refund of just 230,000 Won, a mere 10% of what I paid. This is unacceptable. My flight number is tja***. I request that Turkish Airlines representatives find a solution. If no resolution is found, I will purchase a new one-way ticket for $1,000 and never choose Turkish Airlines again.
