On December 14, 2023, I attempted to change my flight with Turkish Airlines after receiving news of a family member's death on the night of December 12, 2023. I contacted the Call Center, and the customer representative mentioned that bereavement is a special circumstance and that Turkish Airlines representatives at Amsterdam Airport could assist. However, when I requested help at the counter, the staff there stated that Turkish Airlines does not provide assistance in such cases. Upon calling again, another customer representative also said they couldn't help, and I had to purchase a new ticket at a high price while I was in the area for training. It is unacceptable for a company like Turkish Airlines to leave its customers in such a difficult situation during an emergency like a funeral. Especially when there were available seats on the flight, changing my ticket due to bereavement should not have been this difficult.
