I hold a Primefly ticket with the number TK-992916416, with a return date of January 31. The only reason I chose Primefly was the 'Free change right' offered by Turkish Airlines at the time of purchase. To have flexibility, I bought the ticket as Primefly in September by paying ₺6,679.39, which was a significant difference (₺1,000-₺1,500).
Today, when I wanted to change the ticket to depart on December 23 and return on December 31, I was told that I needed to pay an additional ₺6,408.84. However, when I tried to buy the same ticket from scratch, the price was ₺9,939.23. Therefore, the difference should actually be ₺9,939.23 - ₺6,679.39 = ₺3,259.84; a higher fee should not be charged.
When I called the call center, I was told that the ₺6,408.84 was a 'Class difference fee,' but I do not accept this answer. I calculated the difference between the two tickets above, and no explanation was given for the additional ₺3,200 being charged. The taxes of the planes are the same, the fuel is the same, the difference between the tickets is clear, but the requested price is ₺6,408.84.
I paid the Primefly fee for the free change, and now almost the price of another ticket is being demanded. We purchase all our tickets as Primefly specifically because we need to be flexible, but I think this feature we want to use is useless and is actually a misleading technique to charge us extra. If I had known this beforehand, I could have bought it as Extrafly or Ecofly, because when I want to make a change, Turkish Airlines still demands the price of a ticket.
We are very loyal Turkish Airlines customers and fly frequently. We bought multiple tickets in advance, all as Primefly. However, I find this situation very misleading and feel deceived.
Despite submitting three complaints to Turkish Airlines, I constantly received scripted responses, and no mathematical explanation was provided.
The Primefly ticket system seems to be entirely based on an illusion.
