Turkish Airlines Lost Luggages And Flight Cancellation
To whom it may concern at Turkish Airlines, I am writing to report a serious ongoing issue with both my flight handling and my baggage on my 25 August 2026 journey, which has still not been resolved and has caused me both financial loss and significant stress. On 25 August I flew from Ercan (Cyprus) to Istanbul, and from there I was supposed to fly Istanbul–Rome–Torino. I completed check‑in for the Istanbul–Rome flight TK1863 and handed over my luggage to Turkish Airlines. I had my travel documents with me and I passed passport control at Istanbul Airport without any problem. Despite this, at the boarding gate Turkish Airlines staff told me that my documents were not sufficient and refused to let me board TK1863 from Istanbul to Rome. I was not given a clear and concrete explanation about which exact rule or document requirement I allegedly did not meet. Later the same day, with exactly the same passport and residence/travel documents, Turkish Airlines accepted me on flight TK1877 from Istanbul to Milano. In your later written responses you have effectively admitted this contradiction. In your first answer you mentioned that my travel document was “insufficient”, in a later answer you wrote that I supposedly could not present a residence permit, and then you stated that after “approval of your documents” my travel was completed on TK1877 to Milano. Before I even arrived in Istanbul, I had already been told that my luggage would be shipped to where I was, on the next available flight. At the airport my original baggage tag numbers were changed and the old baggage coupons were taken back from me, so I no longer have the original baggage numbers and only have the new ones that were issued. Since I was supposed to arrive in Rome, I asked my sister, who was in Rome at that time, to file a Lost and Found report there because my luggage did not appear as expected. When I arrived in Milano, my baggage again did not arrive to me. I had to travel back to Torino at my own expense, paying extra costs out of my own pocket because of Turkish Airlines’ decisions and without any financial support or reimbursement from you, even though the situation was caused by the way my journey and luggage were handled. As of today, I still have no information on where my luggage is, and I have not received any concrete solution or effective assistance from your customer service despite reporting the issue. I request that Turkish Airlines urgently locate and deliver my luggage to me or, if this is not possible, provide a full and fair refund and compensation for my lost baggage and for the extra expenses I have had to incur because of this incident. I also ask for a clear written explanation of why I was denied boarding on TK1863 despite later being accepted on TK1877 with the same documents. I expect this matter to be handled urgently and seriously.
