Turkish Airlines' Inability to Issue Commercial E-Invoice for Flight Ticket
I purchased a round-trip flight ticket to the USA from the Turkish Airlines website for a business trip and requested an e-invoice. As soon as I bought the ticket, I contacted live support to ask how to obtain the e-invoice. I was informed that I needed to update the invoice details after the flights were completed and that the e-invoice would be issued once all flights were finished. I asked this question four times during the same conversation. After the flights were completed, I updated my e-invoice details as instructed, but the invoice did not reach me even after 72 hours. I noticed that Turkish Airlines issued a personal invoice for me in the month I purchased the ticket. In response to my inquiry, I was told that the invoice details must be updated by the 10th of the month following the ticket purchase, and the invoice would be issued for that month. I can't reach the accounting department, and phone representatives are not helpful at all. I have spent more than 5 hours tracking this invoice, almost as much time as a flight to New York. I still do not have the e-invoice. If I cannot get this invoice, I will not be able to claim my expenses from the company. I am facing these issues on a trip supported by the Ministry of Commerce. Such problems do not occur with other companies; you can enter your invoice details when purchasing the ticket and get your invoice issued. I am sharing a screenshot of the updated invoice details as an attachment.
As you can see from the following conversation, your live support states that a commercial e-invoice cannot be issued before the flights are completed. However, the support I received indicated that corrections could be made until the 10th of the month following the date the ticket was purchased.
