Turkish Airlines Credit Card Presentation Issue
I purchased a ticket from Turkish Airlines for a flight on 11.01.2024 at 02:00 to travel from Istanbul to Izmir with my friend. I completed my check-in via the app, but my friend's check-in did not go through. We arrived at Istanbul Airport around midnight. The counter agent requested the physical presentation of the credit card used for my friend's ticket purchase, which was my credit card. Since I didn't have the card with me, I couldn't present it. We were directed to the supervisor. The decision-maker was the supervisor... I am the credit card owner, I had my ID and everything with me, but they still required the physical card. How can this be reasonable? After pleading and trying to convince the supervisor, we finally resolved it. We had to deal with this in the middle of the night, tired and sleepy! I ask Turkish Airlines! If a secure transaction isn't possible, then why issue the ticket? Why is this only discovered at the counter a few hours before the flight? Is it so easy to get to Istanbul Airport? This seems like a tactic to make people buy new tickets... Never again with Turkish Airlines!
