Turkish Airlines CIP Lounge Experience Issue
I am a businessman living in Istanbul and I frequently travel for work. I have been flying with Turkish Airlines for nearly 30 years. However, I experienced an incident this evening that I found unbecoming of Turkish Airlines. On May 11, 2024, I had a flight from Ankara Esenboga Airport to Istanbul Airport at 18:05. As stated in the document, I had access to the CIP lounge. I was at the airport two hours before the flight. When the flight time approached, I went to the gate, and the gate attendant rudely informed me that the current flight was for Sabiha Gokcen and mine would be taken shortly. They even learned my name and surname, but when I went to the gate 10 minutes later, they said the gate was closed and they could not let me in. I believe the gate attendant did this deliberately. Such behavior is not fitting for the CIP Lounge. They could have been more courteous. I then had to book a seat on the 19:50 flight and pay for the ticket again. The gentleman at the counter politely said he was aware of the situation but there was nothing he could do. I am filing my complaint again here: how can a gate be closed hastily and rudely in such a deliberate manner? Previously, I was somehow able to board the plane in such situations. I want to express that I find this behavior unbecoming of Turkish Airlines and I will report my complaint to all necessary authorities.
