On July 29th, I boarded a Turkish Airlines flight from Gaziantep to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. My luggage was broken when it arrived at my destination, thanks to the airport staff. Despite my efforts, I was unable to locate any responsible personnel in the baggage area of Sharm El Sheikh Airport. Determined, I took photos of my damaged bag, uploaded the necessary documents to Turkish Airlines' website, and filed a formal complaint. My return journey on August 5th included another transfer to Istanbul. I approached Turkish Airlines' baggage department to discuss the problem. They informed me that because my flight had a layover and the luggage was in transit, they couldn't proceed until they physically saw the damaged bag. As a result, I was advised to settle the matter in Gaziantep, where the initial flight took off. Gaziantep Airport, on the other hand, claimed that my online report was sufficient and that no additional documentation was required. Despite my protests, they refused to issue an official report, claiming that my online activities were exhaustive. Days later, Turkish Airlines sent me an email stating that my claim could not be honored due to the lack of an official airport report. When I returned to the airport, I was told that the incident was too old for an official report and that the system would not allow it. Numerous calls to customer service resulted in no resolution. My expensive suitcase, which I had purchased specifically to avoid mishaps while traveling internationally, was destroyed. The behavior of a reputable institution like Turkish Airlines disappointed me. I must seek compensation for my loss immediately.
