Turkish Airlines Assistance Issue for Elderly Passengers
We have encountered an issue with Turkish Airlines. My parents are 70 years old and live on my father's minimal retirement pension. They visit us in the winter and return home in the summer. Due to their age, we can barely afford their tickets and send them by plane. My father has Parkinson's disease, though it's not in an advanced stage. However, the new airport has long walking distances, which exhausts them and causes them to lose their way. We requested assistance to transport them by vehicle. We did the same last year without any problems. This time, they asked my father for a medical report; otherwise, they wouldn't allow him on the plane. They spent hours dealing with this. For a simple report from the family doctor, they demanded an extra ₺3,000, even though we had already purchased discounted tickets. We barely managed to pay the extra ₺3,000... If such a change was made, why wasn't it mentioned when buying the ticket? It's a shame, they waited for hours, and on top of that, you took extra money. This is unacceptable and unfair. I have a serious complaint about this matter. What is this, for God's sake? I want my complaint to be taken seriously.
