Trip.com Refuses Full Refund After Uzbekistan Airways Changed My Flight Dates

Through Trip.com, we purchased four tickets on Uzbekistan Airways for travel between Ankara and Tashkent, with departure scheduled for Saturday, June 27, and return scheduled for Saturday, July 4. The tickets were booked under three separate reservations, and the total amount paid was approximately $1,667.

However, the airline later changed the itinerary without our consent. Our departure flight was moved from June 27 to Monday, June 29, and our return flight was changed from July 4 to Monday, July 6. We were informed of these schedule changes only about five days ago.

As government employees, we arranged and received official leave specifically for the original travel dates of June 27 through July 4. Because of our work obligations and approved leave schedule, it is absolutely impossible for us to travel on the newly assigned dates. The revised itinerary does not serve the purpose for which the tickets were purchased.

When we requested a full refund through the Trip.com application, we saw that the request had been rejected. We then contacted Uzbekistan Airways directly by phone and were clearly informed that a full refund could be provided through Trip.com due to the airline-initiated schedule change.

Despite this information, Trip.com continues to display that the airline does not authorize a full refund and instead offers only a very small partial refund based on airline policy. Since we are unable to take the flights because of official work commitments and the airline changed the schedule after purchase, we requested a full refund to the credit cards used for payment.

Although we hold four tickets across three separate reservations and have been trying to resolve this issue for approximately one week, we have only received a refund for one of the tickets. The remaining tickets have not been refunded despite repeated requests.

I am requesting an immediate and complete refund for all four e-tickets. Given that the schedule change was initiated by the airline and makes travel impossible for us, a full refund is the only fair resolution. If this matter is not resolved promptly, we will pursue all available legal remedies to protect our rights as consumers.
