I purchased a flight ticket from Istanbul to Phuket for April 15 through Trip.com, paying approximately $1,875. However, this flight was later changed to a different date without my approval and entirely at Trip.com’s discretion. The new date they assigned was absolutely not suitable for us, so we submitted another request to change it.
They rejected our requested new date, claiming there were no available seats. Despite this, we later found out that there were no seats available on the alternative flight they had initially assigned us either, and while we were on a waiting list, no protection or guarantee was provided. In other words, they made a change without our consent and then failed to offer any assurance afterward.
We have been dealing with this issue for about a week and have been unable to properly reach Trip.com or find a reliable point of contact. Despite the high amount we paid, we currently do not even have a confirmed flight.
I request that Trip.com reissue our Istanbul–Phuket tickets without any additional charges in a way that does not cause further inconvenience, and that this process be clearly communicated to us in writing.
