Trip.com Canceled My Original Flight Instead Of Updating My Reservation
I made a reservation through Trip.com for Azerbaijan Airlines flights with departure from Ankara to Baku on May 8 at 10:55 p.m. and return from Baku to Ankara on May 22 at 8:15 p.m.
Later, I wanted to make a modification to my reservation. However, instead of simply processing a reservation change, the system canceled my original ticket and created an entirely new reservation.
I completed this transaction on April 17, 2026, approximately between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
During the process, I did not intentionally cancel my ticket. I only proceeded through the reservation modification steps. Despite this, I was later informed that no refund whatsoever would be issued for my original ticket.
When I contacted Trip.com customer service, I was simply told that “this is the policy,” without any detailed explanation or reasonable justification. The issue was treated as normal even though I clearly did not intend to cancel my original booking.
I performed this transaction explicitly as a reservation change request, not as a voluntary cancellation of my previous ticket.
For this reason, I believe I was unfairly disadvantaged by the cancellation of my original booking, and I request a full refund of the canceled ticket amount.
