I Face Unexplained Overcharge on Airbnb Booking Payment in İzmir Bayraklı
On July 29, 2025, I booked an apartment in İzmir Bayraklı through Airbnb and paid a total of ₺16,781.07 according to the invoice shown in my account. However, when the payment was processed, my bank statement reflected a charge of ₺17,400 — significantly higher than the listed amount. Airbnb provided no notification, explanation, or breakdown for this difference.
When I contacted my bank, they suggested it could be due to currency conversion rates or an additional commission. However, no official clarification or documentation has been provided by Airbnb to confirm this. This lack of transparency is unacceptable for a global platform handling large transactions.
I request a full explanation from Airbnb regarding the overcharge and an immediate refund of the excess amount taken from my account. The company should clearly state the reason for the discrepancy and ensure such issues do not occur for other customers.
