Trip.com Approved My Refund but the Money Never Reached My Account

I canceled my round-trip airline ticket that I had purchased through Trip.com. My cancellation request was approved by Trip.com, and I was informed that approximately $128 would be deducted due to various fees and charges, while the remaining amount would be refunded to me. My total payment was approximately $985, and Trip.com clearly stated that $855 would be returned to my account. I accepted these terms and proceeded with the cancellation.
The cancellation approval was issued on June 22, 2026. However, despite 16 days having passed since that date, the refund has still not been credited to my bank account. Although the Trip.com website and mobile application show the refund status as “completed,” there is no record of the refund in my bank account.
I contacted my bank and was clearly informed that no refund request, pending transaction, or incoming payment related to this amount exists in their system. In other words, despite Trip.com indicating that the refund has been processed, the funds have not reached my account in any form.
When I contacted Trip.com customer service, I was repeatedly told only that “the refund has been completed.” However, no proof of payment, transaction reference number, or explanation has been provided, and there is still no sign of the refund in my bank records. I specifically requested that the refund be sent directly to my original payment method and not to any Trip.com wallet, credit balance, or alternative account.
Because a significant amount of time has passed and neither my bank nor I can verify that any refund was actually processed, I am experiencing financial hardship and frustration. I request the immediate payment of my refund amount of approximately $855, a detailed explanation of the refund process, and documentation proving where and when the funds were transferred.
I expect Trip.com to resolve this matter without further delay and ensure that the approved refund is credited to my account as originally promised.
