Toyota Yaris Diesel Chronic Air Flow Sensor Issue
I've been driving my Toyota Yaris 1.4 diesel, purchased in 2012, for 12 years, and my family prefers Toyota for our other vehicles as well. However, we encountered the chronic air flow sensor issue that plagues 1.4 diesel cars. I delivered my car to Efe Anka Motor Vehicles Service Construction Contracting Trading Joint Stock Company authorized service on April 29, 2024, and as of May 9, 2024, I received my car back without any solution to my problem. My car spent 10 days in the service. They informed me that the cause was the air flow sensor, but the part was unavailable and would take one to one and a half months to arrive from abroad. I was left without a car for 10 days with this response. Through my research, I discovered that aftermarket versions of this part can damage the vehicle's brain. As consumers, we need to ask the following questions:
1- Does Toyota fail to take responsibility for chronic issues with its cars after a certain period and leave customers helpless?
2- The mentioned air flow sensor is sold at a high price of around ₺9,500 at other Toyota services. Are we forced to pay this price? It's known that aftermarket products can damage the vehicle's brain.
3- If this sensor is a chronic issue and is being discussed in social media groups, shouldn't Toyota offer a discount on this part?
I believe Toyota, as a world-renowned and reputable manufacturer, and its authorized service networks are commendable brands. As a customer who has been left without a solution despite being stranded without a car for 10 days, I expect support and an urgent resolution from Toyota.
