Toyota Corolla Airbag Failure

On April 7, 2024, during my daily commute, I had a scary incident on the road. As I was driving my trusty car, I encountered a situation where I had to quickly react to a car suddenly braking in front of me. Unfortunately, I lost control of the steering and ended up rolling for about 80 meters. My wife and two children had a close call with a life-threatening situation, but fortunately, we only suffered temporary physical injuries. Surprisingly, all 10 airbags failed to deploy in the accident. After conducting a thorough investigation, it became clear that this problem is a recurring issue in Corolla models manufactured from 2011 to 2019. Interestingly, European countries took the initiative to issue a voluntary recall for these vehicles. Surprisingly, despite warnings from the Turkish Ministry of Commerce, no such action was taken in Turkey. I'm curious as to why the airbags in this car, which we bought with confidence in Toyota's safety standards, didn't activate during the accident. The car is in pristine condition with no history of accidents and all its parts are original. I have included some photos of the accident to provide a clearer understanding of the situation. Imagine the emotions that would arise if you or someone dear to you found themselves in such a predicament. My 10 and 16-year-old daughters continue to experience fear when it comes to riding in the car, and unfortunately, their psychological well-being has not shown any signs of improvement. My wife is still in the process of recovering. We were deeply troubled and let down. The airbag replacement performed in European countries was not implemented in Turkey. Even after sending multiple emails, I did not receive any response. I had no other option but to pursue legal recourse. Anyone thinking about purchasing Toyota vehicles should take this situation into account. Despite the advertisements boasting about the presence of 10 airbags, none of them were activated during the accident.

The return was made at the end of approximately one month, and they stated that there was no issue with the airbags. When I asked why they didn't deploy, they said, "We only report the result, we don't share the report and details." Fortunately, I had an assessment done with a court order just in case.
