Tesla Refused Warranty Coverage For Brake Problem On Nearly New Model Y
I purchased my Tesla Model Y brand new in February 2026. Around March 25, before the vehicle had even reached 1,000 kilometers, I started hearing noises coming from the brakes.
When I contacted Tesla regarding the issue, I was told that I needed to “heat up” the brakes and that the sound might disappear afterward. However, as of today, the vehicle has reached approximately 2,600 kilometers and the brake noise problem still continues.
The Tesla service center I spoke with in Istanbul told me to bring the vehicle in for inspection and stated that the brake pads would most likely need to be replaced. However, I was also informed that this procedure would probably not be covered under warranty and would instead be treated as a paid repair.
In my opinion, it is completely unacceptable for a brand-new vehicle with only a few thousand kilometers to develop brake pad problems and then have those issues excluded from warranty coverage. In addition, throughout this process, I was not provided with any clear or satisfactory technical explanation regarding the source of the problem.
My expectation from Tesla is that the brake pads or any other parts determined to be causing this brake noise issue should be replaced under warranty, especially considering that the vehicle is nearly new and has extremely low mileage.
I also request clear and transparent information regarding the issue and expect my customer grievance to be resolved properly.
