Tesla Model 3 12V Battery Replacement Delayed 12–18 Weeks
After the measurements performed by my 2021 Tesla Model 3 SR+, the vehicle’s warning system indicated that the 12V battery needs to be replaced. Driving the car in this condition could potentially result in an accident, and if the 12V battery suddenly loses power, the vehicle can completely shut down.
Because the vehicle uses a specialized battery, only the battery officially recommended by Tesla can be used. Other batteries may be incompatible and could leave the vehicle stranded. Tesla Turkey’s official service center told me that there is a 12–18 week waiting period to obtain a replacement 12V battery and advised me not to use the car during this waiting period.
This is not an acceptable amount of time, as it effectively means I will be without my car for at least three months. If Tesla cannot provide a loaner vehicle, it would be reasonable for them to offer a temporary battery solution. My vehicle has not been involved in an accident and has no mechanical failure; the only issue is that the 12V battery has reached the end of its service life and needs to be replaced.
When YouTubers visit Tesla service centers, they are provided with Tesla loaner vehicles. As one of the longest-standing and most dedicated Tesla fans in the country, being left without a car for three months would unfortunately make me reconsider my previous statement that Tesla Turkey Service provides “excellent customer service.”
There are two possible solutions:
1. Install a reliable battery that will not leave me stranded, and replace it with the original Tesla battery once it becomes available.
2. If this cannot be provided, offer me a loaner vehicle for the duration of the waiting period.
