I Booked via Stayforlong but the Hotel Had No Record and I Lost My Deposit

I booked a triple room through Stayforlong for a February stay in Athens. They charged me the initial deposit right away. Just to be safe, I emailed the hotel directly to confirm the reservation—but to my shock, the hotel said they had no reservation under my name or through Stayforlong at all.
I immediately reached out to Stayforlong, emailing several times through their website, but I never received any reply. Not a single response. With my trip approaching, I had no choice but to forfeit my deposit and make a new reservation through another platform just to avoid arriving in Athens with no accommodation.
This experience was extremely disappointing and stressful. I trusted Stayforlong, but clearly they do not verify bookings with hotels or provide basic customer support. I’m writing this to warn others—if you book through them, you might lose your money and be left stranded.
I demand a full refund of my lost deposit and expect Stayforlong to take accountability for failing to deliver a confirmed booking. At the very least, answer your customers when things go wrong!
