I Face Severe Battery Drain on Sony WF-1000XM4 After Firmware Update

I purchased my Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds two years ago and have only used them occasionally, alternating with another device. When I first bought them, the performance was outstanding — sound quality, noise cancellation, everything worked perfectly. However, after a software update, the battery life dropped drastically; now the earbuds die within 10–15 minutes of use.
The product is no longer under warranty, but considering Sony’s reputation for quality, this kind of issue is extremely disappointing. The earbuds themselves are great, but the battery problem completely overshadows their performance and value. I reached out to the service center, but they were unable to offer any effective support or repair options.
I’m truly frustrated that there’s no higher point of escalation or additional support for such a widespread issue. After this experience, I regret buying Sony products and have lost trust in the brand. I request that Sony acknowledge and address this recurring battery degradation problem, which seems to have started after a firmware update, and offer repair or replacement options for affected users.
