I purchased a PlayStation 5 when it was first released and have since used three different DualSense controllers, all of which developed recurring issues without any user-related damage. These persistent problems clearly indicate a manufacturing defect rather than an isolated case.
On my first DualSense controller, I experienced loosening and malfunctioning of the R2 trigger spring. During gameplay (for example, in FIFA), the adaptive trigger puts excessive strain on the spring system, eventually stretching or breaking it. Although this controller was replaced under warranty, the second controller developed the exact same R2 issue.
Frustrated, I purchased a third original DualSense controller at my own expense, only to face the same R2 spring failure again. Having encountered the same defect in three separate controllers proves this is a product design flaw, not user error.
I dealt with Seçkin Elektronik, the authorized service center in Trabzon. Initially, they denied my request for a free replacement. However, after insisting and escalating the issue to Sony headquarters, my claim was validated, and the service center was forced to replace the controller free of charge. This clearly shows Sony acknowledges the R2 trigger defect.
In addition, all three controllers now suffer from L3 analog drift—causing characters to move left without touching the joystick. None of these controllers have been dropped or damaged in any way.
To emphasize:
I used my PlayStation 4 controllers for years without any issues.
But the PS5 DualSense controllers clearly lack durability and quality in both design and manufacturing.
Hundreds of users on social media and gaming forums are reporting similar problems, showing this is a widespread quality issue.
While I reserve the right to escalate this matter to the Consumer Arbitration Board, I prefer Sony to resolve this in the spirit of goodwill and customer satisfaction.
Therefore, I explicitly request the free replacement of my defective DualSense controllers or a permanent solution to these problems. I am willing to send the devices for inspection if necessary.
Here are my controller details:
DualSense 1: CFI-ZCT1B – Serial No: 1K2409B
DualSense 2: CFI-ZCT1G – Serial No: 3344001GTCT10891881
