About a month ago, I purchased a second-hand PlayStation 4 Pro 1TB CUH-7016B console. In the beginning, the device only had noticeable fan noise and some heating problems. However, recently, I started experiencing additional performance issues: brief half-second sound cutouts during gameplay, menu lag, and slow response times when switching between applications.
The storage on the device is currently about 450 GB full. Yesterday, I opened the top cover to inspect the fan and found it dusty, though the dust wasn’t built up in thick layers. The seller assured me that the console had never been repaired before.
I am considering taking the console for a thermal paste replacement and a deep internal cleaning. I need clear technical guidance on whether these steps will fully resolve the overheating, fan noise, and lag problems or if there might be more serious underlying issues.
This situation is causing frustration as I can’t enjoy smooth gameplay on a console I paid for expecting stable performance.
I explicitly request detailed advice or a recommended service procedure to restore my console’s performance and eliminate the heating and fan noise problems.
