I Received a Suspicious Snapchat Verification Email for an Account I Never Created

On April 24, 2026, around 12:26 PM, I received an account verification email from Team Snapchat (v***********@verify.snapchat.com) sent to my email address. Based on the content of the email, I understood that an attempt had been made to create a Snapchat account using my name and the username “emily_eguj.”

Up until today, I have never had any Snapchat account connected to this email address, and at the time I received this email, I was absolutely not attempting to create any Snapchat account. Despite this, someone attempted to open an account using my name and email address, which has caused serious concerns regarding my identity and personal data security.

I request that Snapchat thoroughly investigate this account creation attempt connected to my email address on the specified date, identify the source and individuals responsible for the activity, and take the necessary actions. I also want Snapchat to systemically block any future attempts to create accounts using my name and email address, and to conduct a detailed security review regarding my identity and account information, with the results clearly communicated to me.

I expect urgent and concrete action to be taken to ensure that our identities and communication channels are better protected against fake account creation attempts and misuse of personal information.
