Simple Life App Charges Recurring $44 Subscription Fees After Canceled Membership
In June, I paid $7 by entering my email and card details on the web to purchase a one-time 30-day membership for a health, diet, and weight loss app named Simple Life. I completed the transaction under the assumption that the membership was strictly limited to this 30-day period, and I never consented to an ongoing or auto-renewing subscription.
However, upon checking my card statements, I discovered that one month later—around July 7–8 and again on August 7—a total of $88 in "Simple Premium" subscription fees was charged to my Paraf credit card via two separate $44 withdrawals without my knowledge, permission, or consent. Both charges were executed without prior notice or authorization.
Even though contacting the app is extremely difficult, I managed to send a message requesting the cancellation of my subscription and received a confirmation stating that it had been canceled. Despite this, these unauthorized charges were still processed from my card, causing me significant financial and personal frustration.
I demand that Simple Life immediately cancel both unauthorized $44 charges made without my knowledge or explicit consent, refund the total $88 back to my card, and provide written confirmation that my subscription has been permanently terminated.
