I am writing to report an issue with an ongoing Shortmax subscription that I am unable to cancel, and that continues to charge me every week without my consent. I originally subscribed via the Apple App Store about a month ago, likely through a link within another app, but I am not completely sure how it was presented. Since then, Shortmax has been charging me approximately $12 every week directly from my bank account. When I checked my Apple subscriptions, the Shortmax subscription did not appear there, so there is no option for me to cancel it through the usual Apple subscription settings. I emailed Shortmax customer service requesting cancellation of my subscription and a stop to the weekly charges, but after almost two weeks, I have received no response at all. I also contacted my bank about these charges. They informed me that the only way to stop the payments would be to close the card or get a new one, which I would prefer to avoid, as I am hoping this can be resolved directly by the company and through the App Store. I request that my Shortmax subscription be cancelled immediately and that the recurring weekly charges of $12 be stopped without requiring me to close or change my bank card. I also expect a refund of the unjustified amounts that have been charged during this period, during which I have not been able to cancel. I would like to be contacted as soon as possible with a clear confirmation that the subscription has been terminated and the refund process has been initiated.
