Shortmax App Blocks Subscription Cancellation After Promising Easy Opt-Out

On December 14, I purchased a weekly membership on the Shortmax app for Android using a special discounted offer. During the purchase process, it was clearly stated that I could cancel the membership at any time. However, when I later wanted to cancel, I could not find any cancellation option either within the app or on the website.

In the app’s “About” section, it says that the membership can be canceled through the Google Play Store. However, no cancellation or subscription management option related to this membership appears in my Google Play account either. I paid approximately $4 for the initial week, and in the following weeks, charges of about $10 were made. Because I am unable to cancel the membership, I am experiencing serious financial harm.

Despite repeatedly trying to contact the company through in-app channels, email, and other communication methods, I have received no response at all. Since I cannot cancel the membership on my own and cannot reach the company, I am requesting that my weekly Shortmax membership be immediately canceled, that no further charges be made to me, and that all unfairly charged amounts be refunded.
