I Could Not Use My Shell Select Coupons Even Though They Were Listed as Valid
After shopping through an app other than Shell, I won coupons that were only valid at selected Shell Select markets. In the district I was in, they were accepted at just two locations (I confirmed this on Shell’s website—if possible, I’ll upload the list here). Even though neither location was close to me, I still made the effort to go. However, at both places, the employees dismissed me with phrases like “we don’t have anything like that,” “there’s no such campaign,” and “we haven’t been informed.” I then tried calling Shell customer service, but couldn’t reach anyone because they only operate until 16:45, so I wasn’t able to explain my issue. Now I ask, what’s more absurd: being turned away from the market for a valid coupon, or Shell—a company that sells fuel and runs markets 24/7—offering customer support for just 7 hours a day? I don’t even know who I should be upset with, but I do know that I have the right to use these simple, rightfully-earned coupons.
