Qantas Wouldn’t Let Me Pay Cash For Points When Booking a Hotel
Using my acquired points, I recently tried making a hotel reservation using the Qantas Frequent Flyer website. I was 1,200 points short once I chose the hotel, added breakfast, and included a flexible cancellation choice. Assuming I could pay the variance with cash, I booked. But there was not such a choice. I was advised to phone Qantas support after receiving an email the following day saying my booking could not be confirmed because of inadequate points. None could help me after spending more than three hours on the phone and being passed between many agents. Some agents stated the problem fell outside of their purview or obviously lacked understanding of it. I am now left hope my booking is cancelled so I may try once more. really annoying encounter!
