As an earthquake survivor living in Hatay, our household appliances were unfortunately damaged due to the disaster. After finally getting back on our feet, my mother and I purchased a 600-liter refrigerator from Profilo via Media Markt in June 2024. Before even completing its second month, the fridge started spoiling food and forming ice inside. We called right away; they came, inspected it, and said there was nothing wrong. They explained that this was a known chronic issue with these models—that when the power goes out, the fridge goes into self-protection mode and only starts working again if unplugged and plugged back in. We mentioned that we’re not always home, as we often travel to Kahramanmaraş, and asked what we’re supposed to do if the power cuts while we're away. They simply said someone would need to come and check. Why sell a fridge with a known defect? Still, we tried to be understanding. But the food inside doesn’t last a week—it spoils. We called again and asked to return the fridge and pay the difference for a better model. Technicians came again and simply said returns aren’t possible and we had to keep using it. The Profilo fridge I bought for my dear mother has become a nightmare. No one takes us seriously, and now we’re stuck with a faulty product. If needed, we will take this to the Consumer Court. Please, we don’t want my mother to be upset any longer.
