Pegasus Lost My Bag, Found It After 15 Days, Then Wanted a Shipping Fee

On January 5, 2026, I traveled with my family of three on Pegasus Airlines from Casablanca to İzmir with a connection via Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Our flight with ticket number L189RD was scheduled to depart at 1:45 AM, but it took off about 50 minutes late at 2:30 AM.

Upon landing at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, the aircraft was held on the tarmac and we were transported to the terminal by bus, causing significant delay. Because we did not know when the connecting flight’s doors would close, we missed our İzmir flight. After missing the flight, we went to the luggage belts and Pegasus service desk to collect our checked bags. We were told to wait and that the luggage would come on one of the belts, but our bags did not appear. When we asked again, we were informed that our luggage had been sent directly to the connecting flight and on to İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport, and that we would have to collect them there.

Although there was a flight that same day, we chose to travel to İzmir by road because of cost and time considerations. At Adnan Menderes Airport, we provided our flight and ticket information; after waiting a long time, we were only able to retrieve one of the two bags between about 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM that evening. The other bag was not found for approximately 15 days; after repeated phone calls and descriptions, it was eventually located.

The lost bag contained valuable items, my fabric suitcase, and important personal documents. During this period, I had to go to the airport twice, incurring taxi and travel expenses, significant time loss, and my family experienced a great deal of stress.

Despite all this, I received an email stating that I would need to pay 2,310 TL for shipping the recovered bag to me, and that I should make a payment to the specified IBAN. I do not find it fair that Pegasus — the party that lost and could not locate my luggage for about two weeks — is demanding a shipping fee from me.

I request that Pegasus deliver my lost bag to me without charging any shipping fee, that the 2,310 TL shipping charge be completely waived, and that I receive a clear and satisfactory explanation and compensation regarding the financial (taxi, travel, time loss) and emotional distress I have experienced.
