On 01.08.2024, we arrived at gate 347 at 7:15 AM to board the Vienna flight at 9:45 AM. While showing our tickets and our cat's vaccination cards, we later realized that our hand luggage was mistakenly taken to the normal baggage section. The staff member informed us that we had an excess of 6 kilograms and needed to pay a fee of 48€. However, we stated that we wanted to take our hand luggage with us and did not want to pay this fee. They then mentioned that it would take at least 3-4 hours and that it would be impossible to retrieve our hand luggage before the flight departed. We were practically forced to pay the additional fee of 48€. We called for a supervisor, and they said the same thing. Despite explaining that our hand luggage was taken by mistake and that we could retrieve it and take it on the plane, no one helped us. They even had the audacity to comment on our parenting because we mistakenly handed over the hand luggage due to our three children. We didn't know Pegasus only wanted to serve single and childless people! We never face such issues even on our international returns. No one I spoke to could give me an answer. Why are my bags being hastily sent to the back without being weighed first? If I didn't have the money to pay for the 6 kilograms excess, I could have easily removed 6 kilograms of weight from the luggage and thrown it away instead of paying 48€. This seems to be a deliberate situation, let it be known... We are tired of you, Pegasus!
