Pegasus Airlines' Neglect: Baby Stroller Misplaced During Flight

On October 27, 2023, I flew with Pegasus Airlines from Tbilisi to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen at 18:10. During boarding, the agent dealing with the passenger next to us scanned our tickets without interacting with us, and we had to retrieve our passports from the counter. They forgot to tag our baby stroller, which was supposed to be tagged at the gate. We folded and stowed the stroller in its bag without an assigned tag when we arrived at the gate. Despite our concerns, the flight attendant did not tag it, claiming it would not be an issue. We were later asked for our boarding passes, and an airline representative was assigned to enter the tag information from our mobile ticket. The stroller, however, was not loaded onto the plane. When we arrived, we discovered that our stroller had gone missing. Despite our efforts to explain the situation for nearly an hour at the lost luggage area, they refused to acknowledge it as missing, implying that the absence of the tag was our fault. They provided an incident report number and a phone number to contact but were unhelpful. After several frustrating phone calls to the number provided, a representative named S****** was unhelpful and demanded payment for a resolution. Attempts to resolve the issue or obtain information about the condition of the stroller were met with refusal. The refusal to inspect the item or provide proof of its condition was unacceptable. Furthermore, discussions with the representative resulted in disagreements and accusations. No resolution was reached after five days, adding to the frustration and inconvenience caused by Pegasus Airlines' carelessness.

They sent my baby stroller by cargo without informing me, and it arrived damaged in a flood. It's unfortunately not usable; I took photos of all the damages and sent them both via email and through their website, but I received no response despite waiting specifically. They don't even reply to emails. Even if they offer a solution after causing so much distress, it’s already meaningless. We were forced to buy a new baby stroller. And all this time, the child has been left without a stroller, suffering. There was no corporate communication. It's as if we had an issue with an unknown place; it's an interesting way of operating. Well done to you👏👏

I am copying and forwarding the response I received from the company regarding the issues I reported. Firstly, we would like to express our regret as Pegasus Airlines for the negative experience you had with your baggage. According to the Montreal Convention, we would like to inform you that Pegasus Airlines is not responsible for the damages listed below and that no further action will be taken. • Small scratches, holes, cuts • Light dampness, wetness • Wheel, handle, strap, internal mechanism breakage, lock breakage, zipper damage due to the quality of the baggage • Damages caused by poor packing and weight • Any damage to items with a Limited Release Tag (lrt) issued under limited acceptance. In this context, your application has been reviewed, and it has been determined that your baggage damage falls into the damage category mentioned above. Therefore, as it is outside the responsibility of our company according to the Montreal Convention, it has been determined that you are not entitled to compensation. Well, it seems like it's my fault; bravo, a very professional approach.
