On December 29, 2025, I made a payment of approximately $1 through pdfe.com in order to use a PDF editing service for only one week. During this process, I did not give any clear, explicit, or informed consent to an annual or high-priced subscription.
However, on January 5, 2026, I noticed that an amount of $56 was automatically charged to my Ziraat Bank debit card as an annual subscription fee. As soon as I became aware of this, I immediately canceled the subscription through the system on the same day and did not use any of the services included in this subscription.
Despite this, no refund has been issued to me. Starting a subscription without the consumer’s explicit consent, applying a high-priced automatic renewal after a short-term or trial service without clearly disclosing it, and failing to provide clear and understandable information in distance sales are all contrary to consumer protection laws.
For a service that I did not request and did not use, I am requesting a full refund of the $56 that was unfairly charged to me, without any deductions, as soon as possible. Otherwise, I would like to clearly state that I have initiated a chargeback process through my bank and will exercise all of my legal rights if necessary. I expect this issue to be resolved in good faith, without delay, and in a way that fully addresses my grievance.
