Yesterday I used the website Pdfe.com to edit a PDF file. In order to be able to download the edited document, the site required me to create an account. There was a big red message claiming a “100% discount for new users” and a 7‑day trial, which clearly gave the impression that this would be free for the trial period. Despite this, after entering my credit card information I was immediately charged 16 CZK twice for additional services such as 24/7 support and storage, which I did not knowingly and explicitly choose. Only after logging in was it clearly stated that if I do not cancel the subscription before the end of the 7‑day trial, I will be automatically charged around $70, which I consider misleading compared with the initial “100% discount” promise. I contacted Pdfe.com customer support about these two 16 CZK charges, and I was told that this is “normal”, which I find unacceptable given how the trial and discount were presented. I am requesting a full refund of both 16 CZK charges and the immediate cancellation of any trial or subscription associated with my account and card so that no further amounts are taken in the future. I expect Pdfe.com to correct this situation promptly, stop any further automatic renewals, and ensure that the information about trials, discounts, and any extra paid services is displayed in a clear and non‑misleading way for users in the future.
