Payless Avis Withheld My Security Deposit Unfairly

On August 27, 2025, I rented a Peugeot 206 from Payless Avis Rent A Car in Bratislava. At the time of pickup, I was required to provide an exceptionally high €1,800 security deposit.

When I returned the vehicle, the company deducted €1,250 from my deposit, claiming there was minor damage to the car. I believe this charge is completely disproportionate to the alleged damage. The vehicle was covered by Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance, which has a maximum liability of €600, making the amount withheld even more difficult to understand.

I contacted the company by email to dispute the charge, but I have not received a satisfactory response or any resolution.

I request a detailed explanation of the deduction, supporting documentation for the alleged damage, and an immediate refund of any amount that was charged in excess of my contractual liability.
