Open English Charged Me $56 for an Unauthorized Subscription Renewal
Last year, I purchased an annual package from Open English, and the subscription period has since expired. Without my consent, prior notification, or any reminder being sent to me, Open English charged my bank card $56 on September 16, 2026, under the description “Dlocal *Open English” and renewed my membership without authorization.
As soon as I noticed the charge, I contacted Open English through the WhatsApp number listed in the contact section of their website. They provided me with a phone number, which I called and explained the situation. I was told that someone would contact me. I was then contacted by phone, but the person I spoke with said they could not process the refund themselves and instructed me to send an email to an address they provided.
I sent an email to that address, but when I received no response, I followed up. This time, I received what appeared to be an automated response providing another phone number. I called the number again, and the person I spoke with said that they could not issue the refund either and that I needed to send another email. They also told me that the first email address I had been given was incorrect and provided a different email address to use.
I contacted the new email address as instructed, but I still have not received any response. I spent an entire day being redirected between different support channels without receiving clear information or an actual solution.
I request a full refund of the unauthorized $56 charge to the bank card ending in 2737 and the complete cancellation of the membership associated with my account number s03358267 and email address s************@hotmail.com. I expect this issue to be resolved urgently and the unauthorized charge to be refunded as soon as possible.
