Brand New Opel Frontera Electric Has Brake Failure and ECU Defect
I took delivery of my brand-new Opel Frontera electric vehicle on November 14, 2025, and it developed a brake failure at just 2 kilometers. Experiencing a malfunction in such a vital safety system before I had even begun using the vehicle caused serious concerns about safety and quality, despite purchasing a zero-mile car. On November 15, I delivered my vehicle with license plate 16 *** 947 to the Bursa Neskar authorized Opel service center. After approximately one week of inspection, I was informed that the engine control unit (ECU) was defective and needed to be replaced. However, despite stating that they identified the faulty part, I have been told that for nearly 20 days they have been unable to request the part from the factory because it allegedly has no part code and cannot be entered into the system. Beyond the inability to source the part, the fact that such a fundamental and critical component allegedly does not even have a part code has further raised serious doubts about the professionalism and seriousness of this process. During this time, I contacted Opel Turkey, and my vehicle replacement request was clearly rejected. At the same time, no concrete step has been taken regarding part supply, and no clear timeline or solution has been provided, causing my hardship to increase day by day. I absolutely cannot accept that a brand-new vehicle suffers an engine control unit failure tied to a brake defect, and that the required part cannot even be requested for weeks under the excuse of a missing code. I believe this vehicle has a manufacturing defect, and despite my replacement request being denied, I expect Opel Turkey to immediately clarify and accelerate the part supply process and to provide a permanent solution that genuinely addresses the serious loss of trust I have experienced.
