Octopus Energy Overcharged Me £3800 and Ignored My Faulty Meter Complaint

For use between May and September, Octopus Energy has charged us an exorbitant £3,800 for electricity. During the summer, when we hardly used big appliances or heating, our consumption cannot have reached this amount. We alerted promptly in June about a possibly defective electricity meter, but Octopus Energy has been entirely unresponsive. They have disregarded our complaints and not sent up an engineer to check the meter despite several calls and emails. Every contact finishes with nebulous promises and apologies rather than any actual action. We still have an irrational bill almost five months later. Octopus Energy appears more preoccupied with collecting our money than with fixing obvious problems with its customer service and equipment.
