Octopus Energy Failed to Resolve My Negative Balance After Smart Meter Issues
Having spent several years with Octopus Energy, things were good until they started utilising projected bills from September 2023 onwards. Later on, I found out that although I had never been told, my smart meters had not been communicating as they should. They knew about the problem, but they neglected to fix the meters right away or offer a signal booster, therefore producing erroneous invoices for months. When I got customer assistance, they appeared unable to confirm whether the correct amounts had been charged. Worse, I had calls cut when I questioned them about a payment conflict via my bank. Since then, Octopus Energy has not bothered to fix the negative balance on my account. Their inaction seems as an attempt to evade responsibility for their errors.
