Netshort Charging 32 SGD Weekly After a 9.99 SGD One-Time Payment
I hold a DBS debit card linked to my POSB salary account and recently discovered that MS Netshort has been deducting around 32 SGD from my account every week without my clear consent. For example, on 1 September 2026 there is a transaction on my DBS account described as “MST Netshort Web NA SGP” for 32.93 SGD, and in other transaction detail screens the deductions appear as 32.75 SGD, 32.83 SGD dated 8 September 2026 as a shopping transaction, 32.75 SGD dated 15 September 2026 also as a shopping transaction, and 32.98 SGD. So far, a total of eight weekly payments of approximately 32–33 SGD have been taken in this way. Before these weekly deductions started, on 8 September 2026 there was a Google Play transaction on my POSB salary account for 9.99 SGD described as “Google NetShort Popul SI SGP” which I understood to be a one‑time payment for a single short drama that I accessed through Facebook. I was not clearly informed that this purchase would trigger a recurring weekly subscription around 32 SGD, and after this first payment I could not find any option to unsubscribe or cancel through Facebook, Google, or the Netshort service. I contacted DBS and attempted to reach MS Netshort customer service regarding these ongoing deductions, but until now I have not received any response or solution, and the weekly charges continue. I request that all these weekly MS Netshort charges (around 32–33 SGD each, including the 1 September 2026 transaction for 32.93 SGD and the 32.75 SGD, 32.83 SGD, 32.75 SGD dated 15 September 2026, and 32.98 SGD charges shown in my statements) be investigated, that any subscription linked to MS Netshort or “Google NetShort Popul SI SGP” be fully cancelled, and that the unjustified deductions be refunded to my DBS debit card/POSB salary account. I also ask that my card details be removed from MS Netshort’s and related payment partners’ systems so that no further payments are taken without my explicit consent.
