On January 1, 2026, I made two one-time test charges totaling $0.50 USD using my Garanti BBVA credit card ending in 5312 through Myıq. Other than this transaction, I did not sign up for any membership, subscription, or recurring payment through Myıq. However, on January 8, 2026, I noticed that $29.99 USD was charged to the same card with the description “myıq. COM/us New York us,” and this charge was later finalized.
No confirmation screen was shown to me for this transaction, no clear subscription agreement was presented, and I was not provided with any prior notification. Later, I received an email stating that $1 USD had been charged for a 7-day trial period, that starting on January 8, 2026, the subscription would automatically renew every 28 days for $30 USD, and that charges would continue unless canceled. I did not explicitly approve these terms. I completed the transaction believing it was only a one-time, low-amount test payment.
As soon as I became aware of the issue, I contacted Myıq by email and requested the cancellation and refund of the $29.99 USD charge that was made without my consent or authorization. At the same time, I contacted Garanti BBVA, canceled my credit card, and was informed that I could dispute the transaction after it was finalized; however, I was not provided with any reference or case number. Despite this, I have received no response from Myıq so far.
I request that the $29.99 USD charged without my permission be fully and unconditionally refunded to my Garanti BBVA credit card as soon as possible, that all of my card details stored in Myıq’s systems be deleted, that all memberships and subscriptions associated with my name be completely terminated, and that no further charges be made to my card under any circumstances.
