Miniso Staff Suggests Customer Shoplifted Instead of Admitting Security Tag Error
On the morning of Friday, October 24, 2025, I purchased a plush toy from the Miniso store at Metromall Shopping Center in Ankara. After I paid at the register and was leaving the store, the alarm went off and I returned to the register. The lady at the register wanted to check my bag, and while looking, she said in an insinuating way, "You might have something left on you." This approach made me quite uncomfortable; I was treated as if I had done something wrong. Yet the price of the product I bought was quite high (approximately $29).
Afterwards, it became clear that the employee at the register had forgotten to remove the alarm from the tag. In other words, she tried to reflect her own mistake onto me in that moment. Normally, I prefer Miniso with great enthusiasm, but encountering such an attitude made me very upset. My receipt number is: 0003.
I left quietly because I didn't want to cause a scene, but I expect this situation to be taken into account by the authorities and for a warning to be given to the employee. At the very least, I expect an apology.
