On December 26, 2025, while attempting to deposit ATOM from my personal Osmosis wallet to the MEXC exchange, I accidentally sent the tokens directly to my MEXC Osmosis deposit address without bridging them through the Cosmos network via IBC. This was completely unintentional and purely a user error.
The transaction details are as follows:
Token: ATOM
Network: Osmosis (IBC)
TxID: 1547C116EA21923C9EFC76016243E96D5E7A350D7659CA2C28AB57D19D25AB94
Recipient address: Osmo15X7y2z6X8kylt6qwefxzcwxnlfhp95syfcnl90
Memo: the correct memo associated with my MEXC account
I would like to emphasize that both the address and the memo fully belong to my MEXC account. I have previously sent OSMO from the same wallet to the same address using the same memo, and those transactions were credited to my account without any issues. In other words, the address and memo are correct; the problem occurred solely due to the token type. If necessary, I can prove that the sending wallet belongs to me.
MEXC customer support rejected my refund request, citing “failed matching” and stating that “ATOM is not supported on the Osmosis network.” However, the assets are not lost. They are still located in a hot wallet under MEXC’s control and remain accessible.
Despite my willingness to pay a high manual recovery fee and to accept all verification and risk procedures, my case was closed. Because of this approach, I believe I have been treated unfairly.
I request that my assets be manually returned to the sending wallet, or that I be provided with a clear, written, and definitive explanation explaining why such a recovery is technically impossible.
