I bought a leather jacket from Mango, but it has a strange smell; what are the best ways to address the odor before considering a return?

If the leather jacket is brand-new and from Mango or another fast-fashion store, it might smell strong. Most of the time, this is because of the chemicals used to tan the leather or the materials used to line it. You can try these things:

Hang the jacket outside or somewhere with good air flow for a few days to air it out. The smell should slowly go away.

Put baking soda inside the jacket and leave it there overnight. Baking soda will take in smells.

If the smell doesn't go away, you might want to take the jacket to a leather cleaner. They have special ways to clean that can get rid of the smell.
